AICAD Exchange
The Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD) Exchange program offers MCAD students the chance to study for a semester at art and design colleges affiliated with AICAD in the United States and Canada
What is the AICAD Exchange?
AICAD is a consortium of colleges which includes roughly thirty-five art and design schools throughout the US and Canada. Students pay the same tuition as they would at their home school. It’s a great way for students to get off campus and experience a different city, school, curriculum, faculty, visiting artists, and artist communities.
What are some reasons students decide to do the AICAD Exchange?
It all depends on what students want to get out of studying off campus. Some students want the cultural immersion and international experience of living in a different country. Other students don’t feel comfortable going abroad. This exchange is a great alternative. Every student who has participated in an AICAD Exchange learns something that they wouldn’t have at MCAD.
“I recommend this program. I would suggest taking some classes that MCAD does not offer like ceramics, jewelry, glass blowing, architecture, or whatever you're interested in” –Hanan Rddad ’16, AICAD Exchange at California College of the Arts
